3rd Quarter - Update on Kirksville Rotary Literacy Projects
The Kirksville Rotary Club's literacy committee has been working on a couple projects that we are happy to share with you! January 2021 kicks off the first month our our literacy partnership with the Adair County Library. This project is called Dial A Story and it is a service where you can dial 660.234.9599 to chose from several stories to listen to.

This month the Rotarian Readers have recorded White Fang, by Jack London as our story. We are super excited to take part in a literacy project that is easy for the members of our community to receive and enjoy. The  literacy committee is looking forward to begin recording our next story Little House in the Big Woods, by Laura Ingalls Wilder for our Rotary Read for February. We are currently looking for Rotary Readers for this story and future stories. Please watch for emails with information on how to sign up and record throughout 2021.

Our second project is the construction of a Little Library that will be housed in Brashear Park. The Little Library is being constructed by David Nichols. We have also formed a group to provide weekly checkins and maintenance of the library. The projected completion and installation of the library is April 2021. We will also schedule a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening day of the Little Library! We will provide new details in our next quarterly update.
